Argofruta Foundation reflects our commitment to environmental, social and governance practices linked to our business strategy.

It is a new way to think about and understand the long-term relationship that we have with our institutional environment and important stakeholders, such as communities, employees, suppliers and customers. We stand for the idea that our responsibility is not to commercialize just a product, but also the sustainability of our business, supporting the local community to grow socially and economically, continuously improving our quality in products and services and, consequently to reach our main goal to ensure a safe, good and premium product for our customers. We believe that these practices allow us to strengthen our relationship with our clients and the final consumer and securely root our partnerships in the market.

Argofruta “DAY CARE”

This is our first project and it will take into consideration different social and environmental needs and concerns from our business:

Create the space, the chance and the opportunity for children, family and company to interact, play, learn and develop skills that many times are not encouraged at home or in school, but are essential for the whole community, such as: sustainable development, diversity and solidarity. A place where they can develop their dreams for their social and economic development and live these dreams together.

This place will be open to the community in a way that parents could help voluntarily in any activity – cleaning the place, collecting recycle material for their children, helping them to develop some “homework”, etc.

We believe that this is a way to ensure that sustainable concepts will be taught to future generations and to contribute as a local stakeholder on local economic, social and environmental development.

Public: from 80 to 100 child per day, from 4 to 10 yearls old.

Activities: Development of activities where children can develop skills related to sustainability, solidarity, diversity and other skills which we believe that will be important for their life and for the community. These activities also aims to bring traditional fairy tales, arts, music, recreational activities and some dreams to childrens daily lives.

Argofruta takes the responsibility for its employees and for the community that is influenced, directly or indirectly, by its activities. We are aware of the social role that we play in the local community in which we operate.
Petrolina suffers from low economic development, this fact increases our responsibility as a stakeholder in the social and economic development

Natural environment

Fruit production is directly related to the climate situation. In recent years, extreme temperatures, droughts, rainy seasons, etc have effected negatively the volume and quality of production worldwide.

Goals

Alimentation

In the Petrolina area, poverty and bad nutrition are one of the biggest social problem. Therefore, we will provide these children with 2 meals per day and ensure that the minimum nutrition requirements will be full filled.

Theater

Aiming to introduce traditional tales to the children, we would develop an activity where literary histories are read and played by the kids to the whole community, promoting their creativity, group abilities, and cultural knowledge.

Recycling activities

Composters

Children can learn composting process and apply at home, reducing the waste from Argofruta and from their homes.

Gardening

Children can plant, take care and harvest vegetables and spices that can be taken home for their own consumption. They would be able to experience the importance of natural resources, the growing process, etc and increase their awareness of environmental sustainability.

Dental and medical assistance

Professionals will make periodical visits in order to provide information on proper dental hygiene, to prevent some illness, etc.

Homework help

Children will have a time to complete their homework and learn the importance of studying and education

Educational games

Introduce old and traditional games to the children, where they can play together games that strengthen their creativity, their ability to deal with different people with different beliefs and education, etc. Encourage socializing skills, looking to each other needs and taking care of their relationships with their friends.

Classic literature

Introduce to the children traditional tales such as “Romeo and Juliet”, “One thousand and one nights”, etc.

Extra Activities

Activities to increase their awareness of environmental practices with water resources, waste, local animals, etc. Cultural short trips to increase their cultural interest in that region and be aware of local vegetation.
